Welcome to the 9th installment of your favourite features series! :dummy:
This took forever to write and I still have many other things to do today, so let's get right to the action~

'The Fall' by Aerorwen

The Fall- a Nuzlocke Cover Page by Aerorwen

Okay, the first thing you will notice is the beautiful art - pencil drawings with digital color. (Pssst, she doesn't want people to freak out about this, but it's done with a flippin' mouse and apparently it doesn't even take forever because she updates quite often? c: ) But that's not all, by far. The prologue introduces you to a well developed world and a heartbreaking backstory around the creation of Mewtwo, and then you meet the characters of the present who aren't any less intriguing. Not only the main characters - minor characters like the Gym Leaders get a good bit of fresh characterization, too.
The Pokémon are the most adorable things ever, and their dialogue (that humans can't understand) cracks me up every time.
There were also some additional rules for the playthrough which made it much harder. Can't wait to see how that turned out and what the effects on the story will be. :'D
I fell in love with this comic so hard, please join me in my confused feelings~.

'Day of the Phoenix' by Notomys-mordax

Day of the Phoenix: Arc 1 cover by Notomys-mordax

Want to see a PokéVerse that's very different from what you usually see? This is for you. A Nuzlocke with a Fantasy setting in which Pokémon are feral, demon-like creatures that can be bound and commanded by only very few people. Those people are called Masters and they protect others from the wild Pokémon, but of course their association with those creatures doesn't help their reputation.
The story begins with the protagonist being turned into a Master involuntarily. Fun times, huh?
Also has some interesting rules, Gijinkas, a distinct, lovely art style, and also a distinct lack of readers. xD The comic is still at the very beginning, mind you, but come on, it's so cool.

'Pokémon Sapphire/Pokémon Emerald - A Gijinka Nuzlocke Adventure' by TKDcory & Shadottie

:icontkdcory: :iconshadottie:

Pokemon Sapphire: Title by TKDcory Pokemon Emerald: Another Story by Shadottie

According to the legend, there was a demon a long time ago who wanted to drown the world in an endless ocean, but he was sealed into eight orbs by a hero. Each year, somebody has to travel the country and see if the seal still holds up, and this year Matthew the Mudkip will perform this honorable task. However, Warner the Treecko thinks he should have been chosen instead and follows Matthew's path.
Two comics about two characters in the same world at the same time, made by the people who had that one Diamond&Pearl DoubleLocke that you might know if you've been lurking on the Forums since the dawn of time - how cool is that? :'D They could both stand on their own, but together it's an even better experience.
Fantastic Gijinka designs, some nice bits of humor, and a setting that makes Hoenn feel like a completely new adventure!

Perpetual Black-The Rules by Shadottie

Annnnd while you're at it, you could also read Shadottie' previous Nuzlocke 'Perpetual Black', one of my all time favourites. Unova is a place where the sun doesn't rise in winter, so the whole story takes place in darkness, looking simply beautiful. It's an incomplete run, unfortunately, but with a proper ending~

'Nightmare: A Platinum Nuzlocke' by Vye-Brante

:iconvye-brante:

Nightmare by Vye-Brante

Due to an unpleasant encounter with Darkrai, Pokémon Trainer Vye and her Infernape Dodger are sent into the world of her nightmares - a world in which battles are deadly, and on top of that she seems to be the only person who isn't okay with that. Vye and Dodger can only get back home if they win the League Challenge, because Darkrai is a bored, playful child 200 year old but still good-looking dude with a bit too much power.
An awesome concept, lots of lovely backstory, and the perfect mixture between funny and eerie. I really wish I'd found it earlier. xD
There's also a side comic about some of Vye's Pokémon from the real world, so you won't only see them in flashbacks. Vye has been to all regions, so it's a nice, colorful bunch of characters.
